The history of this breed is well known as it is traced back to a certain barn cat named Susie in Pertshire Scotland. Sometime between 1961-62, what was particular about Susie was that her ears had an unuasual fold in the middle of her ears. Then when she had kittens two of them had similar ears. out of ignorance and lack of medical knowledge at the time these kittens were breeded without any medical investigation.upto 75 kittens were than produced in a span of 3 years. some of which had folded ears and some didn’t.

However given this breeds gene mutation and medical concerns many countries including Nederlands and Scotland have banned the breeding of the Scotish Fold.
